| Max Ratnarathorn is a chef, designer and educator
who now resides in Pittsfield, MA after living in Boston and New
York City.
He holds a B.F.A. in design from Cooper Union and a Professional
Chef Degree from the Cambridge
School of Culinary Arts. His love for food started at a young
age in his grandfather’s and mother’s kitchens, growing
up immersed in the flavors and techniques of Southeast Asia. After
a 15-year career as a graphic and interface designer he decided
to pursue his life-long passion for food to study traditional
French cuisine, adding western approaches and techniques to his
repertoire. What emerged is an delicious and aromatic blend of
East and West. Max freely borrows from the Mediterranean, Africa,
South Asia and the
Far East to create his dishes.
Max currently divides his time between food, design, fine art,
and home repair.
